National Pingtung University of Education (NPUE) Short Term Visiting Fellowship Program in Taiwan

Objective

The aim of this program is to promote the enrichment and growth of research and teaching at NPUE by inviting scholars from overseas academic research institutions for short term fellowships, whereby they can discuss research, exchange opinions and hold lectures together with NPUE faculty members for undergraduate and graduate students at NPUE.

University Introduction

National Pingtung University of Education (NPUE) is located in Pingtung City in southern Taiwan. With a population of over 900,000, Pingtung is a bustling industrial center. Having a tropical climate, the Pingtung region is famous for the excellent taste of such locally-grown fruits as papayas, pineapples, and "wax apples." Pingtung also boasts marvelous scenery, including majestic mountains and beautiful beaches, to which many tourists flock each year. The Kenting area, at the southern tip of the island, has Taiwan's best beaches which offer a great variety of water sports and excellent sunbathing. A must-see item on the traveler's agenda is Kenting's renowned museum of marine biology.

National Pingtung University of Education (NPUE) is a warm and friendly university in Pingtung County. With a student population of about 3,700 and a very low student-teacher ratio, NPUE maintains the intimate feeling of a small community. NPUE has a caring and supportive faculty and fosters a family-like atmosphere. As such, NPUE creates a cohesive and highly motivated intellectual community.
